Setting up tank for every fish needs some basic requirements to look on.All the requirements are based on nature of fish weather they are saltwater, cold water, or freshwater fish.So in case of tropical balloon mollies, they live happily in freshwater so you need a freshwater tank for them.
So there are some other points you need to care for your fish like
- Water parameters
- Tank decorations
- Oxygen maintenance
So we will discuss all things on by one
Water is the main thing that is directly contacted with body of fish and have intense effect. So there are two things. One is the water Ph level which tells us about acidic or basic nature of water. The Ph level must be in range to avoid any disease. PH level of water should be between 7.0 to 8.0 which is slightly alkaline or basic.
They are live bearing tropical fishes so they need Wide space or area to swim in water so arrange a big tank for them that have enough space, they can survive in minimum 20-gallon aquarium with proper lights. But for better growth and happy relationship and atmosphere keep them in 3o to 40 gallons of water tank.
As we know that live bearing fishes give birth directly to babies for this purpose they need a maintained water temperature. Maintain temperature between 68 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit (68-82°F). For this purpose you must install water heater that will do this job for you.
They prefer to have live plants in the aquarium because they love to eat some forms of algae and they also like strong plants such as Anubias, Sagittaria, and many more.. Also put some rocks inside if you want to.Put some good lighting system to have good coloured tanks.
The tropical fishes which give birth to babies also a cause of cloudy water. The excrete the wastes from the body.So for the water freshness and keep it clean and clear you must need to install a filtration system.
Install an air pump to provide the free oxygen to your fish all the time whatever the condition is. Sometime atmosphere lack oxygen due to many reasons so we install air pump as per-requisite.
You must also have some gravel or stones at the bottom of the tank so the fish will enjoy the naturalness in the tank.
