Here at Fishing Mauritius we offer some of the finest big game fishing, for Tuna, Marlin and Shark, to both the novice, and experienced angler alike. Our day trips are on the two largest and most successful big game boats, "Tora Tora 2" and "Tora Tora 3" based at Le Morne Anglers Club in the south west of the island.

General Information 

The Blue marlin's enormous size and legendary fighting ability makes it one of the most highly targeted gamefish in the world.These true giants are top of the food chain. They lurk in the waters surrounding Mauritius, waiting to pounce on an unsuspecting tuna or a lure bubbling and splashing behind a boat. They are generally loners and put on a spectacular battle when hooked, jumping all over the surface while also staying under and fighting down and dirty. Battle's with these monsters can last well over three hours, the longest fight in Mauritius was twenty six hours before the line broke!

Blue Marlin are caught trolling artificial lures and live baiting. We encourage catch and release of all marlin whenever possible. An angler should be proud to catch one of these giants.

The blue marlin is the largest of all the marlin's, known to exceed 2000 lbs in weight. The largest blue marlin caught in Mauritius weighed 1430 lbs. All trophy size fish are female, males do not exceed 300 lbs. Marlins are believed to live up to 15 years.
